I thought this was a very interesting conversation in the story. It was with the attorney, who is high on several drugs, talking to an oblivious police officer who has no idea that the man he is talking to is a crazy dangerous drug addict. It is instances like this that keeps the story on edge. These two men who are involved with so many drugs are at a police drug conference in Las Vegas. Taking risks is a huge theme in this novel and this is truly shown within this scene.
