I want to become a person that others can look up to. I want to be able to step into any social scene and be able to interact smoothly with all types of people. Eventually, I want to become unbiased, which is seemingly impossible to do. I want to have a positive impact in my community, helping to better the place we live.
Jay Gatsby- I want to become the wealthiest man in all of East Egg. I want to be known as a stylish man that lives a lavish lifestyle. I want to spend the rest of my life with Daisy.
The Narrator- I want to become an independent man who stands up for what he believes in. I want to speak out against issues that seem immoral and uncivil.
Gatsby seems more self centered. He wants to impress others with somewhat of a fake identity. He is trying to win the heart of the girl he loves. The Narrator wants to better himself, and the community around him.
Matt, it didn't ask who you want to become. But thanks for sharing. I agree with what you said about the Narrator and Gatsby. Great calls and we kind of see eye-to-eye on this.
