3 Facts:
1) Steelers linebacker, Jerome Harrison, was charged $25,000 on Tuesday for a hit on Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
2) He has been fined four times this season for a total of $125,000.
3) Andre Johnson, who threw punches at Titans Wide Receiver Cortland Finnegan, was charged the same amount of money.
2 Questions:
1) Why doesn't Harrison change his playing style since he has been getting fined over and over again?
2) Why are quarterbacks "defended" by the league more than any other position in the NFL?
1 opinion:
I think that the NFL has recently become somewhat of a soft league. I understand that the league wants to protect its players, but football is a gruesome contact sport after all, and that is why many people like it. Also, it seems that a player is much more likely to get fined if the opposing player (the one being tackled) is injured. That seems a bit unfair to me...
Many people agree that the NFL has gone "too far" in protecting it's players.

The NFL needs to be strict like they have been doing. To prevent recent high concussion rates, the NFL has been very strict on fines and penalties. I don't remember so many concussions in past NfL years. QB's are the face of the NFL so they need to protect them.
